Gx7 using a manual prime

I've moved from my Nikon slr gear and taken up with the mirrorless concept, using a Panny Gx7. The only item I retained from my slr bag was a 25mm f2.8 manual focus prime and I'd like to try using it on the Gx7.

I'm looking to use an SRB mount srb mount

It's a cpu lens and I realise that I'll lose all the electronic communication between lens and camera - I'll be setting the aperture manually.

Can anyone help me with two things please?
1. Do I have to tell the Gx7 what lens I'm using? My Nikon gear had this but I never had to use it so I'm not familiar with the process. I can't find any reference to it in the Gx7 Op Guide or Manual.

2. With the lens mounted will I lose all the exposure control information that the camera gave me previously? IE: will it (can it) display the required aperture for the shutter speed and iso that is set or will I be shooting blind for that part of the "magic triangle" ?

I could mount it and see what it does but I thought if I asked the question first I might get some useful suggestions and could save laying out the £30 plus for the mount.
