X100T. . .

Just wondering if anybody has some insight for me. Even though I have my two X-T2s and lenses for the majority of my shooting, I recently dusted off my X100s and started using it for a project I have been doing around home for the last 12 months. I am shooting the local Aboriginal or Indigenous folk who are the Desert Aboriginal here in WA. I have found the fill in flash in bright sunlight a bit frustrating with the X-T2. Putting on the ND filter and taking it off. Then trying to work out the flash ratios etc, is spoiling the fun of what I am doing. I get more duds than good ones to use! I only have a manual Yongnuo flash for the hot shoe. I had put my X100s in moth-balls (not literally), because I shoot now 80 odd percent of all my shots at waist level on my flippy screens on the T2's. I just hate putting the camera up to my eye now for so many reasons (I'm writing a full blog about it at the moment).

In frustration with the outdoor flash I dusted off the X100s. Man I had forgotten how marvellous that little thing takes fill flash in bright sunlight - magic stuff. That leaveshutter/builtinNDfilter is out of this world - from another planet. I will put up with the no flippy screen just to get those beautiful, perfect fill flashes.

If the X100f had a flippy screen it would be a no-brainer - I would just buy one. However, I am hoping the next one will have the flippy screen, so I am waiting with anticipation. As a not-so-expensive interim measure, I was wondering if the X100t is a big step up from the X100s?? The T is still around $1,300 on 'fleabay' here in Australia - but a darn sight better than the $1,900 here for the wretched X100f. My question - can somebody tell me the difference from S to the T. I am wanting a better LCD and OVF - also faster focus would be a plus. Does that model take the same battery as the X100s? Thanks in advance.

The face detection and AF improvement on X100T were the features for me when upgrading from the original X100.

Also the build-in fill flash of X100 series is unmatched to that of external flash. I found external flash pics a bit harsh/unnatural even with high speed sync. With build-in, slow-sync speed flash light is almost natural.
