I have the M3 with the EVF. Frankly I hate the external EVF. I have never liked how its hard to see the screen in bright light so you have to use the EVF. The EVF is sticking way up in the air. Feels like it could break off.
I don't understand the preference of the M6 to the M5 either other than the price. I am not a fan of slab retro cameras. The DSLR's shape was perfected long ago. The whole retro thing with the dials I don't get - I think all he EOS cameras are very ergonomic except the M's.
Isn't choice a wonderful thing? I much prefer having the option of using the M6 with or without the viewfinder attached. I like the shape of the camera, with or without the viewfinder, and I do most of my shooting without the viewfinder, with the 22 pancake. However, I do understand the preference of having the built-in viewfinder. It's just that, a preference. Once you understand that different people have different preferences, it's not hard to understand them, even if you don't share them.
Optical is best by far . I will take pure optical over a screen any day of the week.
