This is a sweet combination, very light and 2 different FOV. I love the 18 on the X-E2. The 35/1.4 doubles the focal length of the 18mm, which is fast becoming a favorite lens on this forum after a long period of negative comments. The 18 will fit in you pocket and is a beautiful compliment to the 35/14. BTW....as it relates to the suggestions of a 23mm fuji. Keep in mind while it may give you a 35mm FOV on a Fuji sensor, is still has the perspective of a 23mm. I have a 24mm on a full frame Canon and would be the last lens I would choose for a portrait with the facial distortion it would give, other than perhaps a shot of man in his environment type of photograph. I do use the 18mm for that type of shot. The same applies to the 35/1.4 but is is more forgiving and quite acceptable to me and others for portraits.

Thanks for the thoughts about a wide angle complement. I might prefer to go even wider; 24mm equivalent. However the single prime is my immediate goal.

I have to say that I agree with Hypoxic though. Changes in FOV and perspective go hand in hand. So a 35mm on the Fuji X really will give the same perspective as a 53mm on full frame. (What will be different as you switch formats is depth of field, which is a function of focal length and aperture.)
