Your aftermarket hood may be fine for you (and the OP for that matter) but it would significantly block the X-Pro’s finder, so would have been a very poor design choice for Fuji.

How do you know if the hood I ordered would block the viewfinder of the XPro more than the stock hood?

I have eyes. I also have an X-Pro2 (and an X-Pro1 before that) and can easily see the effect that hood would have if I used it.

Fuji, and any of the original buyers of the 35 f1.4 for starters, since the X-Pro1 was the only body you could attach the lens to at launch.

You think none of the other hoods, and even the one supplied by Fuji for the 35 1.4, don't block part of the optical viewfinder of the XPro series of cameras?

I’ve owned both the X-Pros and used them both with the 35 1.4, I know exactly how that hood works with the viewfinder.

Like the 23 f/1.4 that is larger around than the 35 and has that flower petal hood design.
