About to dive in: Is X-E3 + 35mm f1.4 a good 'single prime' camera choice?

The 35 (53mm) is a fine lens but simply put for my only combo I want something wider.

Personal opinion.  Many of us use a 50mm equivalent in this manner.  OP said he is used to this.
