A weatherproof lens on a non weatherproof body doesn’t really help anyone - and what on earth is “stupid” about the 1.4’s lens hood? It’s a clever design, and well built too, mine never leaves the lens, which in turn rarely leaves the camera.  Great lens and all the hyperbole is well earned.
