About to dive in: Is X-E3 + 35mm f1.4 a good 'single prime' camera choice?

Re: About to dive in: Is X-E3 + 35mm f1.4 a good 'single prime' camera choice?

I just added fuji to my gear very recently. Initially I was looking at the X-E3, but ended up with the X-Pro2. Reason was the great deal I got on the XP2, and the fact that the X-E3 was functionally closer to my existing Canon M2 body.
Based on reviews I started off with the 35 f/2. Sharpness is considered better all over the place, and it has WR sealing, which is nice with the XP2, less relevant with the X-e3.
After my first trial I bought the 35 f/1.4. I just missed the thinner DOF on my walk around lens. I do like the equivalent 50mm for street and portrait, and I have the f/1.2 on my FF.
Now from a simple facts comparison, my f/2 is super sharp to the corner from f/2 on.  The AF is faster and more it's smaller and has WR sealing. While I am happy with my f/1.4, corners are soft wide open. Still, the stuff I shoot simply looks nicer at f/1.4.
Issue is that I now have to let go of the nice 35 f/2.0. Simply makes no sense to have both.
Another thing you might consider/try is the 23mm f/1.4. If it it is your only prime, it might be a very nice option too!

Have fun with the camera, and happy shooting (whatever lens you end up buying)
