Snapbridge - always on?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I have tried searching and could not come up with an/the answer. I am not a fan of using bluetooth and/or snapbridge. I prefer to transfer my photos using a card reader. In many of the ads for snapbridge, and in relation to the 7500 which I am considering, I see the words "always on"   Is that the case? Is snapbridge and/or bluetooth "always on?" Is there a setting so they can be turned off?

Thank you,

Ken
