Should I buy an M5 or the M50?

My son recently damaged my M3 when he was trying to use it and I had already been wanting/considering the M5 as I want the hot shoe and the EVF at the same time.

From what I can tell the main features ( I find Important) that I see on the M50 lacking on the M5 are focus points, the fully articulated screen, and the Digic 8 processor.
The M50 does seem to have less resolution on the screen, however its the same as my M3 which was fine.
The M50 gets less shots per battery, but I am used to carrying extra batteries, so not a huge deal for me.

I don't use video features.

Are there considerations I should be thinking of between the two that are not obvious from the spec sheet on DPreview?

A Canon Refurbished M5 is $729 plus $56 tax making it $785 and the M50 is $779 no tax on Adorama.
