Can someone please confirm - Do aftermarket batteries still work in the EM1-Mk2 since the firmware update?
The v2.1 update seems to have improved compatibility with third party battery packs.
With the v2.0 firmware, if you had an OEM pack in the body and a third party pack in the grip, the camera would appear to only utilize the body pack.
With v2.1 firmware, one can pop a third party pack in and out of the grip and the camera auto-switches just like it does with OEM packs.
Of course, v2.1 still produces the texual warning, and refuses to display the percent indicator when using a third party pack.
Correction: I was comparing the behavior of v1.4 and v2.1 firmware. My bad.
That's OK, I am still on 1.4 but don't have a bolt on extra battery grip, so hope it will work OK with a in-camera single aftermarket battery?
Only I see Olympus states that battery level readout has been 'improved' and I remember a few years ago after Panasonic provided a firmware update (to either the G1 or the GX7, I can't remember which) that aftermarket batteries were no longer recognised!
As I can not afford to buy 3 Olympus batteries I would rather forgo the firmware update than to lose my spare batteries.
Now that would be a shame.

The Fujifilm X-T5 is the company's latest classically-styled APS-C mirrorless camera. It gains the 40MP sensor and AF system from the X-H2 but in a body with a more stills-focused slant. We've been putting it through its paces.
