Manual infinity focus with SX50HS
It's an old camera now but has served me well, and will be my superzoom for a while longer.
I was out last night taking pictures of the Moon, Venus, and Mercury. In the past the camera has been able to AF on the Moon but last night, rather than struggle to reacquire AF for each shot I tried MF. Pushed the indicator all the way up to the infinity sign and fired away. At home looking at the images on the PC I find that the top of the focus scale is apparently not actually infinity, but somewhere past it, as all my shots were soft.
Is there a trick that will lock infinity focus on the SX50HS?
