Canon cameras produce softer images ?

Hello all,

I was checking out some Canon camera reviews and I came across a couple of interesting videos which point out that images from Canon cameras are in general noticably less sharp than other popular brands.

One of the channels seems very popular and focusses mainly on reviewing Canon gear (Christopher Frost Photography), here is a link to that video:

The other channel belongs to a professional wedding photographer who has used Canon for several years before switching to Nikon. Here is a link to her video explaining this:

This has surprised me a bit to be honest. I though sharpness has mostly to do with quality of lenses. Could this problem be related to possible focusing issues with Canon gear or could this be a sensor based issue ? Is it really true that Canon cameras produces soft images more often than cameras from other brands ?

Perhaps people with experience with multiple camera brands can shed light on this ?
