Calibrate a screen/monitor to a printer?

I have used a few computers and printers. All of them I have noticed the print comes out darker than the screen/monitor picture.
I use a Dell computer and a Xerox printer at work - I mostly use microsoft Publisher.
At home I use a HP AIO at the moment and a HP ENVY printer. For graphics and Photos I mostly use the Gimp.
How do I configure them so the colours come out the same as the screen/monitor picture? A link or two would be great help please
By the way my OS on both systems is windows
7 Professional at work and 10 at Home
