Strange Limitation in On1 RAW 2108

'Sharpening' isn't part of Local Adjustments. It can only be accessed as part of Overall Settings.

Yes, there is a masking adjustment (by holding down the 'Alt' key). But if I set 'Threshold' at or near zero, there are parts of the image that are selected for sharpening that I don't want sharpened. If I increase Threshold to remove those areas, then it also removes areas that I wish sharpened.

I don't understand why On1 didn't let sharpening be part of local adjustments, as, for instance, is the case in DxO PhotoLab or ACDSee Ultimate 2018. In both of these, you can just paint over the area to which you wish to apply sharpening. It's under the control of the user, not the program, as is the case with On1 RAW.

This makes On1 RAW a good bit less useful for me.

I do have the update - 2018.1 (where the 'Masking' slider under 'Sharpening' in the UG is replaced by the Threshold slider, which seems to act just as the Masking one described in the UG).
