INDIA. Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Finally !!

Long overdue, I've pushed myself to finalize processing the images from a wonderful and packed-to-the-brim trip to Tamil Nadu and Kerala (South-India) early last year.

I made all my images there with an E-M1 and assorted lenses, but also quite a bit with the Panasonic LX100 that is my go-to second camera, especially for travel.

The several online galleries I have created even include some Iphone images, because in some Tamil Nadu hindu temples, "real cameras" are not allowed, but smartphone photography is not only allowed but even encouraged. Go figure.

The "main" online image gallery is here :

That gallery includes a selection of sightseeing images from the whole trip.

But for me personally, the galleries that matter more, are the three theme-based galleries I made under the PEOPLE section of my webpages:

PLAY (youth and leisure) :
PRAY (religion, broadly speaking) :
WORK (crafts and labour) :

In these, you can tell how open and hospitable the south-indians have been to us.

Some random samples (just a couple from every gallery):

Ganesh temple in Pondicherry.  People go there for good luck blessings.

Vishnu temple basin in Thirumayam.

Young guys going crazy on Mahabalipuram beach, while other pilgrims contemplate the sunrise.

Riding the ferris wheel on a New Year's Fairground in Tiruchirapalli (best New Year's Day ever!)

Young pilgrims, again on Mahabalipuram beach at sunrise.

The very top of Rock Fort Temple in Tiruchirapally, again at sunrise.

Seaside salt harvest,, somewhere along the coastal road between Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry.

Construction workers building scaffolding at a temple site near Kumbakonam.

Village barber in a rural town in the region of the Chettiar Houses

Brickmakers on the road from Madurai to Kerala.  Heavy work, performed by couples.

Fishermen in Kochi (man, those chinese fishing nets are shaky constructions...)

Hope you enjoy.

Do check out the full galleries if you want to see more.

All C&C or comments (or questions) are welcome.
