I disposed of 2 Rebels, which I liked because I discovered that several lenses were actually front/back focusing rather than lens IQ issues. I discovered this when live view become good enough for at least test shots. LV pics were sharp. Viewfinder shots were off. I then bought a 70D and tried adjusting lenses that didn't match LV with viewfinder. My STM lenses seemed to be spot on when viewed at 100% in DPP. The problem lenses were an older, but mint 70-200 f4 L and 100-400mm L, mk1 and 15-85mm. The first lens was backfocusing at W and T. The second was front focusing. The last lens was also front focusing. I used sharply defined buildings and signs for the 2 telephoto lenses and the Lens Align target for the 15-85. After adjusting, I went out a took a variety of pics using LV and FV. If the pics were identical, then task accomplished. Everything was shot at wide open, but I rarely shoot wide open. A rather annoying and tedious task but better than sending gear to Canon. If I had a laptop, I would buy the software than can automate the process. I do believe Canon could do more to make the MFA process easier and simpler and should include it on Rebels, which I would no longer buy. Currently, I also use the M5 and mirrorless eliminates these issues.
