This article holds water in my mind. I can easily see obvious applications from the get go - there will be many. The first one that comes to mind is effective management of stock photography rights, use, notification, royalty etc. It's not difficult to image the many potential applications. When you have a permanent, non-modifiable decentralized distributed ledger guaranteeing historical proof, that can be leveraged many ways for many things. I don't see why that isn't plainly obvious to all.  Currency was simply an application; it will apply easily to many others - electronic books...the list is endless.
