Back to Nikon SRL with new-old 24-120 F4 VR
So at last I found a (used, but EXC+) 24-120 F4 VR.
And my 6 years old and seldom used D700 is getting a new life!
Today it was the first sunny day after I bought the lens, and I took it to shoot a few snaps strolling in downtown.
The Naked Archer:
A 1:1 crop of our XIV Century Cathedral front face:
Both are .nef RAW files developed in LR5 with just std. lens correction and some mild tone curve applied.
I'm not here for a review of the lens (someone can say every lens if good stopped down to F8 - but I tested it wide open, too). I just feel extremely satisfied with it!
And the D700 still feels like a professional tool. Responsive. Dependable. Heavy weight (after using a Sony RX100 during the last two years). Loud mirror CLAP (the only really annoying side).
