Re: EM5ii is my favourite camera...

I had e-pm1 and then e-pm2 for a number of years as my ultra small travel camera while my "main" system then was APS-c based. I never really like using either of the e-pm's but the size is what I was after. I replaced them with GX85 last April. I love the GX85 even with the "huge" 12-100. The soft shutter is lovely. It was this GX85 that convinced me to jump both feet into m4/3.
My APS-c camera has pixel shift high resolution mode and I know Olympus also has a similar feature in some of the models. Long story short, I bought e-m5ii a little while ago but still with concerns lingered from the e-pm days.
Now with a little more experience, I can say that I now feel quite comfortable with it to the point that the e-m5ii is the main camera and the GX85 is the backup. I still prefer the shutter of GX85. The e-m5ii has a better build and is WR to go along with my 12-40 and 12-100. The fully articulating screen is extremely useful, much more useful than the GX85 tilting screen. I am more used to the SD card location in e-m5ii and separated from the battery compartment. My limited experience, however, suggests e-m5ii battery life is shorter than GX85.
Through an OM1, 2, and 4Ti, playing with the original Pens (FT and Fv) and a Nikon F70 and 80, and E-1, E3 and E5, E330, E30, E330, 420 and 620 and an EM-1 and Panasonic G-85, as well as the original OM5 and a Pen F, the OM5ii simply shines as being nearly pocketably, small and smooth, yet incorporating a huge feature set, including Olympus' first really good video, weatherproofing and impressive build-quality.
Perhaps the Leica M4ii I used briefly came close to feeling as nice. And the OM4TI and E1 to being as compact and capable and rugged.
It's a great little camera, though you really do have to practice on the necessarily close spacing of some of the buttons. Once you do, you're ready for just about any photographic challenge!
