GX7 vs GX9 - large prints
Mar 4, 2018
Hi all,
I have a GX7 which has served me well and given great results. I’m looking to make large prints now and have done some print tests between the GX7 and 24 megapixel cameras. I’ve noticed that resizing up to 50 inches on the long side at 300 dpi you can see a noticeable difference in resolution between the 16 megapixel Panasonic and 24 megapixel camera. I’ve done a few tests in different conditions with different lenses and can see enough of a difference to make me think carefully about this.
I know the GX9 has a 20mp sensor and no anti alias filter. From Gh5 samples I’ve downloaded off the net it seems that the 20mp sensor has better enlargement potential.
Anyone noticed an improvement going from an old generation 16mp with aa filter to a 20mp without? I love the mft system and quality lenses available so don’t want to have two camera systems if I can help it!
Thanks!
