Best use of $1000?

I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve my m43 inventory for a family trip to Disney World.

I currently have a GX7, a 20/1.7, and a 35-100/2.8. I'm hoping to draw on the combined lens/body/Disney experience of the forum to decide what, if anything, I should add.

My main worry is capturing the kids meeting the characters while dining and at greetings. I'm not familiar enough with those scenarios to know what speed and focal length(s?) I'd need to get by.

Other considerations are that I'd like to keep my my kit portable and to avoid frequent lens changes.

Right now I'm considering 2 options, but am open to other suggestions (including "save your $, that kit will work great at Disney").

  1. 12-60/2.8-4. Hoping this would be fast enough for indoor use and cover the variety of FLs at greetings. Added bonus, wider FL range works for outdoors, too.
  2. New GX9 with slower 12-60 kits lens. Adds same FLs and flexibility, but with added features of newer body. This is at the expense of speed on the lens, though. Would IBIS help offset this? I know that'd help elsewhere with kid-induced motion.

So that's where I am. If you have any insight that could help me figure out how to get the most from my $1000 budget, I'd appreciate it!
