Now the GX9 was out of the bag, people has been guessing was it an upgrade of GX7 or GX85.
My first thought an upgrade of GX7 should be the GX8. Why are you people accede to leapfrogging over GX8.
And hell no. Its not an upgrade of GX8 either. With the features of GX9, its an insult to GX8 owners and certainly a downgrade of GX8.
The closest I can think of its an upgrade of GX85 but it’s of little impact. So Panny, you got the branding dead wrong. As always your branding is always confusing, having different brand for different country for the same camera.
Now am I looking forward to an upgrade of GX8. Yes, unless and until there is obvious improvement. Its worth repeating here the min expectation of the REAL GX9. Panny if you are consumer orientated, pls read here.
- maintain the articulate LCD. You guys can hv the false GX9 tilt screen and eat it
- maintain the same body size since a larger batt allow more shots than the pathetic 260 shots the false GX9 can offer. Some may argue just buy more batt and is cheap. My friend, originals batt are not cheap and I only care to buy originals. Its about body proportion in relation to larger lens. Simple as that.
- maintain the large EVF
- improve on sensor with higher ISO capabilities.
- reposition the cable release port as it intrude the flipping of LCD. This a no brainer
- Mimic the false GX9 capabilities of shooting 900 shots when using EVF.
- And remember, don’t taper down the grip smaller, just maintain. If you see nothing wrong with the false GX9, you won’t give an option of an add on grip right? Don’t you think its sucks whenever you change batt and the need to remove the added grip?
- Most impt, improve on shutter shock.
Abv is min before I see myself upgrade of GX8. End of story
