Hello. Recently moved from Oly E-P5 to Pan GX85 (still waiting) because i become fan not only photos but video too and now i have good 4K.
I have primes oly 25/1.8, sigma 60/2.8 (absolutelly love both), and zoom pan 14-140/3.5-5.6 (II)
With new body i also wait kit lens: Pan 12-32/3.5-5.6 and 45-150/4-5.6.
My problem is that pan 14-140/3.5-5.6 absolutely bad in zooming - intermittent motion when i change focal length. So video become jerky when i use zoom while recording.
Go on Youtube and find examples of videos that you would like to make. It's very likely that those videos will not use any zooming while filming. It's distracting and also looks a bit amateurish. In short, I don't think you should be zooming while recording, anyway. The nice thing about avoiding zoom while recording is that you can now enjoy your 14-140 and not have to buy anything new!
Now i should decide what to sell and may be what to buy. Is a kit 12-32mm acceptable for video and photos?
I would say so, although I find the lack of a manual focus ring to be a limitation.
Actually i thinking about buying Pan 12-60/3.5-5.6. Yes this is kit lens too but it have twice wider focal range. Seems to be very handy for travels?
Yes, it sounds like a nice lens. It has gotten good reviews.
My next question about a new bag and tripod.
I don't like shoulder bags but in love with sling Canon Custom Gadget Bag 300EG. I need new budget sling type bag. Suggestions?
I like my Think Tank Turnstyle sling bag. Much better than the LowePros I've used, although I haven't looked at current LowePro sling bags.
Want to get some small sized tripod. For selfie photos (via wifi app) and low light conditions. I think about 9-12 inches when closed. May be for my new bag size.
I already have original gorillapod but this is not indeed what i need. I need steady three legs without bending in all places.
I just bought an UltraPod II to replace my Gorillapod. It's lighter and takes up a bit less room. It's Velcro strap should let me attach it to the same things I used to use with my Gorillapod.
For a conventional, lightweight tripod, I just bought a Sirui 024X carbon fiber tripod. It's very lightweight and folds to 15.7". Not sure if that's too long for you or not.
