Man, what have you Aussies done to your native fauna?

It took just 200 years of European settlement with farmers determined to recreate the green rolling fields of Britain to decimate our hardwood forests. Now only a small % remains, and the logging industry is constantly arguing that they only want to harvest a small % of what remains of our old growth forests.  Meanwhile millions of head of cattle range in dry country, bordering on desert, and ironinically in the driest continent we have huge cotton plantations drinking the rivers and aquifers dry.  Doesn't leave much room for wildlife. Sound familiar ?

How's that rainforest going in Brazil ?  Is it still diminishing at an unchecked rate ?
