For any number of irrelevant reasons. That's not an indication of anything.

Again, if you got a source, schematics, anything that backs up the claim that the lens actually plays with the physical diaphragm to maintain constant aperture, please do post them. It would be an entertaining read.

The youtube comments state the obvious that this was either user error or a defective unit.

The 12-35 has been in the hands of very capable and meticulous film makers for a number of years now. If it had such a glaring flaw, we'd know.
