Canon still about two years behind...
4

I started with Canon Power Shots, and always love the pictures and IS and video I got from them.  I was never disappointed in Canon, and thought I would stay with them.  So I got the first EOS M1, and a 22 and a 50-200 lens, and thought man this is a great beginning and step up in photography, but the lack of moveable screen and viewfinder soured me, and this 4k video thing that was starting to happen was intriguing.
So I waited....

I looked at the G lineup gack then the G1X (1.5" sensor), the G3X (Telephoto) G5X (actually just about perfect except no 4k and no mic jack like my EOS M), EOS 3, 5, 6 all improvements, BUT no really good lenses, and still no 4k.

Then I left...

I went to Lumix, 4k, IBIS, smaller, etc...  and that's where I have been.  Not because I love Lumix, but because they are giving me what I want NOW!

... and as of today.

Canon has come out with two cameras that if they were around 2 years ago, I would have never left their eco system the G1X M3 and the EOS M50.  Not sure which one I would have bought but the M50 with the 15-45mm lens would have perfectly complimented my 22mm and 50-200mm lens set up.  I am still watching Canon, because I love their colors (I still miss the stills from the EOS M) hoping they get a mic jack and a faster lens on that G1X M4...
