I took a couple of quick shots since my post and noticed I was automatically going to my left eye.

When I forced going to right I paid attention and realized my nose is hitting on the view screen. I have to force camera against my nose or turn my head at an uncomfortable angle. This was without the eye cup.

I don't have my old camera any longer but from looking at photo it appears to have had a somewhat extended eye piece.

Definitely look out for that EP-EX15 II, then, as it will form a similar housing.  Might be enough to help you.

By the way, there are much nicer electronic viewfinders (larger, higher res) in mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras than the ones on your old camera, nowadays (was it a Sony Cybershot HX200V?  If so, there is literally no comparison).  Ironically, I prefer them to the somewhat small optical reflex finders in APS-C DSLRs.  Mind you, you are probably totally aware of this and still prefer a DSLR, as many do.
