Hallgrimskirkja Church, Iceland

The Hallgrimskirkja Church was my first stop after arriving in Reykjavik, Iceland. Here are some of the photographs that I captured during my visit:

1- The church stands at 244 feet high--making it the second tallest building in the country. It took 41 years to build the church. It was completed in 1986.

2- A statue of Leif Erikson, the Norse explorer from Iceland, stands in front of the church.

3- It was fun taking pictures of the ceiling with my fisheye lens.

4- From the church's bell tower, you are treated to a birds eye view of downtown Reykjavik.

5- Pipe Organ

6- The church as viewed from Skolavordustiger Street

7- The sanctuary

8- It's quite a feat to capture pictures of the church without tourists in the frame.

9- This was one of the few times that the sky cleared for a bit during the nine days I was in Iceland.

10- Looking back toward the pipe organ

11- Ceiling #2

12- Leif Erikson statue in front of the church.

All photographs were captured with the Nikon D850. Many more photographs to come from Iceland...

Thank for looking...
