Purple fringing on raw files out of XT2 with 18-55

I'd recently moved to a Fuji XT2 and the 18-55 kit lens, from micro43 (Olympus OMD EM-10 with 12-40 f/2.8 Pro). Using the new system for a few days, I'm shocked by how susceptible the system is to purple fringing!

Here is an example image: https://imgur.com/a/LU1K0

This image was taken as follows:

  • Shot on an overcast day, so not shooting into the sun
  • RAW file imported into CaptureOne 10.1, without any further edits
  • Screenshot of a part of the image zoomed-in 100%

I can confirm that this is not a RAW processor issue, output of Lightroom and Irident are similar; in-camera JPEG is slightly better, but still shows significant purple-fringing.

Having shot for several years on the micro43 system, I'm quite confident that my old kit would not show this amount of CA/purple-fringing. My concern is that this might be due to defective hardware, and that the lens or the body may need to be replaced.

I'd like to hear if anybody else has had similar issues, and how they solved it.
