Good day all. I am new to DLSR, just graduated from a bridge camera. I really prefer to use the view finder and always have....was one of the reasons I left the bridge with it's electronic viewfinder.
Something about the layout of the camera and my face don't jive. Using my right eye I can't get a comfortable hold on the camera. I also can't see the info at the bottom without physically readjusting my face to the eye piece. Using my left eye is better, but my vision is quite different in the two eyes and I have to adjust the diopter for each eye.
Is there an add on accessory that changes this layout like an extension? I have an eye cup and it helps but wonder if something is better. Or is this just a learning curve I have to suffer through?
thanks so much,
I believe Canon markets a relatively inexpensive accessory called the EP-EX15 II, which is an eyepiece extender. Sounds like this could be what you need. It effectively (using optics in a small housing which slides onto the eyepiece like the eyecup does) extends the eyepiece outwards by 15mm, with the side-effect of making the viewfinder image a fair amount smaller. Might be worth a try from somewhere with a return policy? There is also still the original EP-EX15, which doesn't seem to have quite as many models listed as compatible, but which is still available. I don't know what the difference is, as they look very similar.
