A6500+ E 10-18/4 samples (Hokkaido in winter)
I always bring this lens when travelling. I realise most of my favourite shots with this lens are at 10mm; I guess I like the extreme perspective and ability to fit as much of the environment in the frame as possible.
It's a pretty sharp lens, about on par with my 16-70/4, i.e. good central and mid frame sharpness, not the sharpest in the edges/corners at f4-f5.6 but sharpens up well as you stop down for depth of field. Actually I did one test shot at 16mm F11 vs my Sigma 16/1.4 at F11 and pixel peeping did not show material differences; probably diffraction limited at F11.
Sunstars are not bad, perhaps slightly above average though I've not yet made time to critically compare sunstars vs other lenses. I put one sunstar sample below.
