What JS wrote.  It's true.  It's not bias to understand that the IQ slides in favor of Fuji by a nod or two. It's not huge except in priority situations and there are other characteristics about a system that make each one worthy of its strengths.

I think you have given away that you already think the Fuji beats image quality of anything m43. I think that shows some bias.

That shows some sense of realism. The bias is m4/3 fans willing to push m4/3 above its weight. The IQ difference between m4/3 and APS-C is here and it's a fact and a boring mundane subject.

The real question is : is that difference meaningful to you?

The answer is very personal and nobody can answer for somebody else.

I think the G9 really is an excellent stills camera. Probably the best m43 has to offer.

Absolutely and noboy is denying it. It's a wonderful camera and m4/3 is an excellent system. If it meets your expetations, it's a system with plenty of advantages against larger sensors. But IQ isn't a m4/3 advantage against larger sensor. It's an advantage against smaller sensors though.

I am not willing to grant before there is any evidence that the new Fuji camera is "better" than the G9. Maybe that's because "better" can mean whatever we choose.

No need to wait, there's plenty of APS-C 24 megapixels that have better IQ than m4/3, and there here since a long time.

Now which is the better overall camera?

That's a matter of personal taste, expectations and needs.

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
