Photography books about "vision"?

I really enjoy a certain style of book about photography that concentrates on the vision behind the photograph, not so much the settings used (although sharing the settings is fine).  For example, an image presented with a paragraph about how the photographer researched and planned the shot, or the "behind the scenes" story of how it was taken.

As an example of what I'm looking for, I've bought all of David Noton's books and enjoy them very much.  I've also picked up one of Jay Maisel's books and it was good, too.  Can anyone suggest any more books in this vein?
