1Dx Mark II , 5D Mark IV , 16-35 LIII ... In-body Stabilization

Hello Everyone,

I am seeking input from those of you who might be able to explain why Canon does not include in-body stabilization (IS) in the majority of their high end camera equipment.

The 1Dx Mark II, the 5D Mark IV, the 16-35 LIII, and the 24-70 LII are just a few pieces of equipment that I would have thought worthy of IS.

Is in-body stabilization simply not needed with these high end pieces?

Is the AF so good in these pieces that it negates the need for IS?

We are looking to enter the next level of photography. We own older Canon pieces: including the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. We really like Canon, and we plan to stay with Canon. However, should we be concerned about no IS as we elevate our Canon equipment?

We're far from experts in hand-held shooting. We own tripods and we use them regularly, however there are instances where we cannot bring the tripod.

Thanks!!!

Matt
