The camera industry is in a state of fast, seismic change right now - therefore a "sampling" approach is perfectly rational if you have the finances to do so. Many of those cameras you listed (Sony A7 series, Fuji X-T series, latest m43 from Oly & Panny) are very intriguing, and the best way to see what works for you is to use them.

Glad you found your "perfect" gear (at least for now).

Cheers,

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. A lot of times I thought to myself over the last years that I should just have stick with my E-M5 instead of go try everything else, spending loads of money in the process. In fact, I must confess I was not hapier with my a7r2 files either, so guess what's more important to me is the fun I have shooting as the results are not limited by none of the gear I've used until now.

Picking up on this exchange, do you have any idea what your journey across different systems and cameras ending up costing you in dollars? What percentage of your cost did you recover by selling your equipment?

I am just curious. The question is admittedly totally irrelevant to photography. By the way I like your shots - you have a good eye for framing and good technical control. I also appreciate your attitude about photography in general. Perfect sense of the amateur (in its original meaning). Thanks for posting!

I'd ratter think of that money the same way as I think about money spent on vacation, it's a lot but at least we had fun
