RX100v filter adaptor

I've been using the Sony VFA-49R1 filter adaptor with my RX100ii for the last couple of years and it's been great.
However the screen on the camera is rapidly dying (only works at certain angles and even then the colours are bizarre and flickering).
So am I thinking of replacing it with the later RX100v model (I also have a Sony A6000, but need a more compact camera to have with me all the time).
Does anyone know if the Sony VFA-49R1adaptor fits the mark V? Obviously I would have to buy a new adaptor. All my filters are 49mm, so I'm not so keen on getting the Lensmate adaptor as I believe that is only for 52mm filters. I guess I could get a step-down ring, but wonder if that would produce vignetting?
Any advice would be appreciated. Also is the markV really worth the extra cost over a mark IV?
