It's funny - the forums tend to sneer at people that change systems frequently, but now that I'm considering what to replace my E-M5 with (purchased around the same time you did), I have a different perspective.

The camera industry is in a state of fast, seismic change right now - therefore a "sampling" approach is perfectly rational if you have the finances to do so. Many of those cameras you listed (Sony A7 series, Fuji X-T series, latest m43 from Oly & Panny) are very intriguing, and the best way to see what works for you is to use them.

Glad you found your "perfect" gear (at least for now).

Thanks Jeff. A lot of times I thought to myself over the last years that I should just have stick with my E-M5 instead of go try everything else, spending loads of money in the process. In fact, I must confess I was not hapier with my a7r2 files either, so guess what's more important to me is the fun I have shooting as the results are not limited by none of the gear I've used until now.
