lem. Things get progressively worse with 1440p or 4k/UHD.

VNC is fine for some light, quick occasional desktop work and remote server administration, but you don't want to do any serious work on it. Especially if it is photo/video editing, gaming and other highly visual stuff.

TYVM!!! what a great answer!... I've been looking @ physical kvm's and all I seem to be able to find that aren't crazy expensive are dvi or usb.
Don't they make hdmi kvm with audio anymore?
i can use network shares for file transfer so thats not a huge issue.

my "ideal" setup would be as if windows had 3 video cards, so that I have a left workspace, middle ( main ) workspace and a right workspace.
i.e. a linux "3 workspace" setup.
