Having seen your comparison shots I'm with you and everyone who pointed out issues with focus, sharpness. For most people both are great shots. For people that worry about more detail, sharpness, etc. one is clearly better than the other. Often, once you see it you can't "unsee" it. They aren't wrong and if you see it, perhaps you are stuck with it but try not to see it. Not seeing the difference would stop you being a professional photographer but wouldn't stop you taking great photos that you will love.  Pixel peeping and hunting sharpness aren't wrong but they can be the death of happy and often great photography. If you don't see a difference dump it. If you do, stick with it.  For me, the only right answer here is yours.
