Lens's IS & 1/60 Rule

While learning photography, I was told / read that you should keep the shutter speed at least 1/60th or faster, to avoid 'shakiness' when taking a picture. This isn't always a hard and fast rule (depends on the person etc), but it has worked for me so far.

When you factor in IS from the lens though, how slow do you think you could go? 1/50? Maybe slower?
