As I recall dpereview’s review of the g9x I said their copy was soft. So assuming they did the tests with the same camera, that might explain it.

For those weighing the g7x II vs g9x II if you are ok with a heavier and thicker camera I would go with the g7x II. Articulating screen and ergonomics are nice and better lens. For me a critical factor is size becuz I use it for travel I like to be able to slip it in any pocket even when it’s hot out and I never use a neck strap for that type of camera. I have a dslr for other uses. If size were not a major factor I would have bought a g7x II probably. I’m very impressed with the g9x II. Image quality is great for a 1” sensor and size is fantastic. Everything seems fast and snappy compared to my older canon pocket cameras. Autofocus and low light performance are excellent imo. I was amazed at the video in low light. Was not expecting anywhere near that quality for low light video in a 1” sensor.
