2007 Hasselblad: does it hold up? Many RAWs available.

Hi,

The other day, I was viewing stuff from my 2012 folders, a time when I got a borrowed H3d-II 31mp for 5 months.

Possibly my all-time favorite camera.

So I've decided to share a bunch of RAWs.

This thread tries to put some perspective regarding CCD backs, as they're often treated as inferior by members here.

But are they really inferior? Of course not.

These backs are amazing, and when put to good use, they are as good as it gets (even in 2018).

The following are full sized images (quality 10 on Photoshop, unfortunately), very, very mild PP, almost unprocessed.

Please view them at original size.

I'm sharing those images, and 50 more RAWs, if you're interested.

Just PM me your email address so I can use We Transfer.

This is a 2007 camera, when Nikon was stuck forever with mushy 12 mp, and Canon had their ugly shadows, banding-happy 21 mp sensors.

Let's emphasize that: in 2007, this was in a league of its own.

Imagine having D810-like IQ 11 fre@king years ago.

Yeah, that gets you a clear idea...

Images below are just low end stuff and random snapshots, sorry I can't share anything better.

But seeing those, they don't remind me a 2007 camera at all.

All I see is a camera I'd use today hugely confident and excited, and IQ that simply delivers.

I don't see anywhere "CCD s#cks" or "DR is poor" or any of the stuff we often read here.

But please, I invite you to play with the 50 RAWs.

Maybe they'll offer a reasonable idea what DMF was like in the CCD age.

Best regards,
Marcio Napoli
