Sounds smart to me. Not only are you selling more than some of the competition, you do that at a higher price point. Win-win.

Olympus reported a decline in mirrorless camera sales in 3Q. For the full fiscal year, they cut the profit forecast of their Imaging division by 50%. That doesn't sound like much of a win to me.

Let's put that decline in context.  Olympus did indeed report a decline in mirrorless sales and revenue in Q3 2018FY relative to Q3 2017FY.  You will recall they launched a $2k flagship camera that was in high demand Q3 2017.  Was it reasonable to expect them to top one of their best quarters in recent memory?

Mirrorless sales, revenue and operating profit are all up YTD.  Given the EM5mkIII is unlikely to launch by end of Q4, there will be no big stimulus for the remainder of this fiscal year.  Forecasts have been calibrated accordingly.   Olympus Imaging Division has never been the money maker.  Most are surprised they became profitable at all.
