Beginner : why P mode alway give better shots

I'm using D3100. I found all the time low light (indoor night time with daylight bulbs) shots are better (exposure) when using P mode instead of A or S modes.   What is the best way to start this journey?

I found getting bokeh is not that hard when using A mode with the right light condition. Also stopping the motion when using a  higher shutter speed than the subject's speed.  But still it always P gives better exposure! But I found P does not give the desired DoF or motion to freeze all the time, but still better exposure!

HELP

Nikon D3100
