Suppose you are a P&S user willing to upgrade : would you chose a cheaper X-A5 with top-class IQ or a more expensive E-PL9 with an outdated sensor?

First of all.

What is your context for this "top-class IQ"? As it requires one when you can see the difference so it matters.

And how that sensor is outdated? Today the most required amount of Mpix is 1-4Mpix really, sometimes for a 8.3Mpix for 4K displays native resolution, but yet not really required.

How huge that difference is in your opinion?

And in what context you would see that is a difference maker?

You should try these cameras instead of linking graphs.

Yes, you should know me that you would know that I have used those cameras.

Just like I have already proven that even best FF cameras sensors in most common large prints and higher ISO than usually people come to come, people don't see a difference in prints.

You can go look the graphs you want and talk about physics and surface area etc, but fact still remains that photography is all about anything else than just scientific measurement. And that is the thing here as well that those tests that you see in that chart is based to real world samples, not to lab tests.

There is no equivalence. There is no scientific test that results to real world final product.
