Suppose you are a P&S user willing to upgrade : would you chose a cheaper X-A5 with top-class IQ or a more expensive E-PL9 with an outdated sensor?

First of all.

What is your context for this "top-class IQ"? As it requires one when you can see the difference so it matters.

And how that sensor is outdated? Today the most required amount of Mpix is 1-4Mpix really, sometimes for a 8.3Mpix for 4K displays native resolution, but yet not really required.

How huge that difference is in your opinion?

And in what context you would see that is a difference maker?

You should try these cameras instead of linking graphs.

And yes, 24 Mpix sensor provides the top class IQ in APS-C, just like 20 Mpix sensor provides the top class IQ in m4/3.

The X-A5 use the best sensor available, the E-PL9 does not use the best sensor available.

That's a fact.
