Close to last is easy, but straight last place is a real challenge!

First place is mostly about producing something mainstream, cute, inoffensive, non-controversial, a bit clichéd; but to get last place you have to provoke a strong reaction in a significant number of viewers to make them want to vote you down, which some people would consider almost the definition of a good photograph.

😜🤣

Take care not to develop a consistent style along the way. People may start to give high marks for mastering aesthetic poverty.

Then again, all fives and point-fives would be more impressive in its anomalousness. When you're ready for the next level...

You inspired me. As a result I managed to come in last place (#75) in the Happiness Challenge. I think a celebration is in order!

Good job - and it illustrates the point well: last place photo is clearly in every respect a better photo than 1st place!

Analyzing the happiness challenge i can't come to any other conclusion than that some of the voters did not at all read/or follow the instructions provided by the host.

In the instructions is clearly written: "This is a challenge where the image makes you want to smile". The headline of the challenge is "Happiness", but the instruction do NOT state that the object of the picture in itself need to be a smiling baby, etc, only that the image should make you want to smile. That is very clearly stated, and should not be possible to understand wrong.

The picture by gordonpritchard very well follows these instructions, it makes you smile, so what is the reason for a lot of 0,5 and 1 stars, but a wrong verdict.

Basically the voters only liked smiling babies and elderly people, (as such completely ok), and also several dog- and cat pictures, but all other animal pictures ( however much the make you smile or make you happy) they were "deemed as completely against the rules of this challenge! A very strange voting.

I did that once. It was a "swimsuit" challenge and I entered an elderly lady in a gold foil bikini roller blading. They hated it.

Success!
That’s fabulous.

pS;
The instant I saw that dreamcatcher, I didn't enter. Besides, I recognized it as a multiple entry. So, I didn't vote either, once I recognize a challenger.
