Re: Who understands Olympus prices?

From a photographer's perspective it's hard to see the attraction of this camera at the asking price. When I look at the Olympus camera lineup now, with the exception of the E-M1ii and possibly the Pen-F, 'm not very impressed. E-M5ii is a fine camera that's presumably near the end of it's product line. I think it was $1100 US when introduced and B&H currently offers it at $849. Not a bad deal. The Fuji X-T20 and X-E3 are going for $899. If I were entering the market, I'd be hard pressed to choose the E-M5ii over the X-T20 or X-E3 (though, I would sorely miss the excellent IBIS and I know the weather sealing is a critical feature for many). The interface of the E-M10iii may make it a better entry level camera than the E-M10ii, but for stills photographers, it certainly wasn't a body to which a 10ii user would upgrade. The E-M1ii is a great camera and I didn't even think it was really overpriced when one thinks about the features of the camera. It's kind of a mini Nikon d5 or Canon 1D. And I think the Pen-F is a very cool camera but it is kind of a niche camera. I'll be eager to see what the E-m5iii brings to the table.
