If I want to photograph a bird 10m away with a 1/500ss, how do I do that with an manual flash?

If the flash has the range to do that, either natively or with some tele projecting sort of hood, then if the ambient light is low, why would you want 1/500 sec shutter speed?

Regards..... Guy

If he's shooting birds (presumably outside) then ambient light will likely still be fairly significant. The OP may be desiring the flash to just provide some fill and extra light, while primarily relying on ambient.

Note to the OP: if you are shooting subjects far away you will need the flash to have a zoom head so that light is not wasted. The MK320/NW320 does not (it has a fixed beam). TT350o does.

Thanks
